Drift to Discover Travel

Where the Current Leads, Discovery Follows

I plan European river cruises for people who want more than a brochure trip, the ships, the routes, and the small details most advisors miss. Let's help you discover your way.

My Story

I fell in love with river cruising, and then I couldn't stop talking about it.

I'm Megan, and I still remember my first river cruise, exploring towns and countries across Europe without ever packing a bag between stops. My wife and I had one floating home base instead of a new hotel every couple of nights, and the crew learned our names within a day or two.

But like on every trip, I couldn't turn off my PT brain. I'm a licensed physical therapist, and that's just how it works. My wife had a knee replacement six months before that trip, so I was watching for trip and fall hazards for her the whole way. Somewhere along the route, I realized I was doing the same for other people in our group too, catching a toe before it caught on uneven cobblestones, steadying a hand on the steep hill up to Heidelberg Castle, the kind you can't route around, helping someone manage the bus stairs. Nobody was talking about any of this, and I couldn't stop noticing it.

That's when it clicked. I've had patients tell me travel started to feel out of reach because of pain or changes in their mobility. What they needed wasn't to be talked out of it. They needed a trip built around them, instead of trying to force themselves into a trip that wasn't. That's the gap Drift to Discover Travel lives in.

I can't promise every trip goes perfectly. But I can promise I'll tell you the truth about what will work for you and what won't, and help you find the version that does.

Honest answers to the questions you have

No Pressure, Start to Finish

From first conversation to final boarding, I handle the details so your trip, your dream trip, comes together without the stress.

The Details Others Miss

Walking distances, how a day in port actually feels on your feet, how much time you really need between stops. These are the kinds of details I notice automatically, and they shape every itinerary I build.

Cruise Lines I Actually Trust

I work with river and ocean lines I know well, because I won't recommend something I wouldn't put myself on.

You Don't Have to Fit One Mold

Whether you're taking your first river cruise, traveling with three generations of your family, or navigating limited mobility, the plan starts with you, not a package. Comfort and pace are always part of the conversation, never an afterthought.

Where Would You Like to Sail?

Every trip is personalized. Your pace, your interests, your comfort level, all of it built around you.

River Cruises

Slow, scenic journeys along Europe's rivers

Slow-paced, immersive travel through the small towns and landscapes a bigger ship can't reach. Smaller ships, easy access ashore, and enough time to actually take in each stop before moving on to the next.

Ocean Cruises

Intimate ships, thoughtfully designed itineraries

Not mega-ships. These are smaller, quieter sailings designed for people who want atmosphere, service, and real exploration, without the overwhelm.

Unsure Which Cruise Is Right for You?

Six quick questions. A personalized cruise style match, no email required. Based on how you actually like to travel, not a generic list.

Question 1 of 6

River Cruise

This is exactly the kind of trip I live for. Slower mornings, real connection to the places you're visiting, and the kind of ease that lets you actually enjoy the day instead of surviving it. Let's talk about which river is right for you.

Let's Talk Rivers

Small Ocean Ship

You want a little more room to roam without losing that personal feel. A small ship gives you variety and comfort without the chaos of a mega-liner. I can help you find the right one.

Larger Ocean Cruise

You're after options and energy, and a bigger ship delivers plenty of both. This isn't my main specialty, but I know good people and good ships. Let's find you the right fit.

Let's Talk It Through

Want cruise tips and deals in your inbox?

Let's Talk It Through Together

Your situation deserves more than a quiz can give you. Let's hop on a quick call so I can actually understand what you need and find something that works.

How It Works

01

Discovery Call

It starts with a free conversation, no pitch, no obligation. We'll talk about who's going, what the occasion is, what you've already looked into, and what actually matters to you.

02

Personalized Proposal

Within a few days, I send cruise options that genuinely fit your timeline, comfort level, and budget, along with my honest recommendation on which one I'd choose.

03

Refine Together

We work through cabin category, dining times, excursions, mobility needs, whatever makes the trip actually yours, together.

04

Book, Travel, Return

I handle the booking and stay reachable the whole way through. If something goes sideways, I handle that too.

A lot of advisors are paid entirely through commission, which means the more expensive the cabin or the cruise, the more they make, whether or not it's actually the right fit for you. I charge a fee so my advice isn't tied to that. I recommend what fits your pace, your budget, and how you actually want to feel on the trip, not whatever pays me the most.

Planning Fee — $225

For river cruise itineraries, multi-destination trips, and anything that needs real design work. Covers building your itinerary, comparing cruise lines and ships, coordinating pre- or post-cruise stays, and refining the plan together until it fits.

Service Fee — $75

For when you already know the cruise and ship you want. Covers booking coordination, document review, cabin selection, and support leading up to your trip.

Add-On Coordination — $35 per item

For extras I book on your behalf that don't come with a supplier commission: shore excursions, dining reservations, spa appointments, tickets.

Group Fee — $15 per person

For eight or more travelers on the same itinerary. Covers rooming coordination, group communication, and keeping everyone's details straight in one place.

Mobility & Access Review — $50

Before I recommend a ship or a stop, I check details most advisors skip, elevator access between decks, how much walking or standing a shore excursion involves, and how manageable each cabin actually is day to day. If a day looks tiring on paper, I'll tell you before you book it, not after.

This is planning insight built on years of experience with mobility and balance. It is not a medical evaluation, and I'm not diagnosing, treating, or providing clinical care of any kind. I'm applying what I know to make sure your itinerary actually fits how you move.

Questions People Ask Me

Search engines are great at showing you options. They're not great at telling you which cabin category actually gets more natural light, which itinerary has too much walking for your group, or what happens if something goes wrong mid-trip. I do the comparing so you don't have to, and I'm the person you call if plans change.

Every trip includes a fee, a planning fee for full itineraries, a smaller service fee if you already know what you want to book. I charge a fee because I don't want my recommendations shaped by commission. You can see the full breakdown in the Fees section above, and I'll always confirm the exact number with you before any work begins.

River cruises are my specialty, but I also work with small-ship ocean voyages and can help with land-based trips too. If you're not sure what fits, that's exactly the kind of thing worth a conversation.

Bring it up early and we'll plan around it. Whether that's limited mobility, a slower pace, or just wanting to know what to expect physically day to day. I pay close attention to walking distances, ship layout, and pacing. I'd rather build a trip that actually works for your group than one that just looks good on paper.

For river cruises, six to twelve months out gives you the best cabin selection and pricing. It's not a hard rule, but the earlier we start talking, the more options you'll have.

Life happens. I'll walk you through the cruise line's cancellation policy before you book, and if plans change, I'm the one who handles the rebooking, not a call center.

A lot of people assume travel isn't for them anymore, when it actually still is. That's especially true for travelers who worry they might have a harder time, physically, logistically, or otherwise. They just need the right information and someone to think it through with them.

If that sounds like you, or someone in your group, I'm glad you're here. That's true whether you're traveling as a couple, a family, or a group of friends. Every client gets a planning experience built around who they actually are, not a one-size-fits-all itinerary.

What makes my approach different isn't a script, it's actually thinking through how a trip will feel once you're living it, not just how it looks in a brochure. That shows up in every itinerary I build, how the days are paced, how much moving around each stop really involves, what the ship or hotel actually feels like to navigate day to day.

That's also why I put in the training to back it up. I'm a Preferred Specialist with Uniworld, a Certified Expert with Viking, a Certified Advisor with AmaWaterways, and a Gold Tier First Mate with Virgin Voyages. I'm a CLIA member, working toward the CLIA River Cruise Specialist designation next.

I specialize in European river cruises and small-ship ocean voyages. I work with first-time river cruisers who want to know what to expect, travelers in their 40s and 50s discovering this style of trip, retirees who want planning that's easy and clear, multigenerational families traveling together, LGBTQ+ travelers, and anyone navigating limited mobility who thought their travel days were behind them. Every client walks away with more than a confirmation number, they get a trip that actually fits how they want to feel once they're there. I'm a travel advisor who thinks like a physical therapist, and I'd love to help you find that for yourself.
